Twenty-five students graduated from Teach Haiti’s Port-au-Prince program last month, bringing the total number of PAP graduates to 136. Here’s a look back at the celebration, and a look ahead to Teach Haiti’s first graduating class in St. Michel, expected in 2032.

In August, 25 students walked across the stage in Port-au-Prince, caps on, diplomas in hand, marking another graduation day for Teach Haiti. It was a celebration years in the making for each of them, and it brought the total number of Teach Haiti graduates in Port-au-Prince to 136.

A Milestone Years in the Making

Every graduate who crossed that stage represents years of showing up: early mornings, long walks to school, and teachers showing up right alongside them. For students who joined Teach Haiti before Pre-Kindergarten, that also meant families finding a way to cover tuition, uniforms, and supplies on their own before Teach Haiti became part of their journey. Reaching 136 total graduates in Port-au-Prince didn’t happen in a single year — it’s the result of a program built one class, one cohort, and one diploma at a time.

Looking Ahead to St. Michel

While Port-au-Prince celebrates its growing number of graduates, Teach Haiti is also looking toward a newer chapter of its work: the St. Michel program. Students there are still years away from graduation, but the excitement is already building. Teach Haiti expects to celebrate its first graduating class in St. Michel in 2032 — a milestone that will mark the program’s own journey from first enrollment to first diploma.

Why This Matters

Every graduation is proof that investment in education pays off, not just for the individual student, but for their family and community. As Port-au-Prince’s class of graduates continues to grow, St. Michel is just beginning to write its own story — one that Teach Haiti and its supporters will get to watch unfold over the years ahead.

Come Alongside the Class of 2032

Right now, somewhere in a St. Michel classroom, a student is learning their alphabet, sounding out their first words, or counting to ten for the very first time — not knowing they’ll one day be part of history as Teach Haiti’s first graduating class. That’s what makes this moment so special: the milestone hasn’t happened yet, which means there’s still time to be part of the story from the very beginning.

Whether it’s through sponsoring a student, supporting teacher training, or helping stock a classroom with the materials it needs, every contribution made today is an investment in the Class of 2032 before they even know they’re being invested in. Come alongside Teach Haiti as we walk with these students from their very first day of school to the day they cross that stage themselves.

Congratulations to the Class of 2026. Here’s to the graduates still to come.
